Return Merchandise Authorization and Warranty Claims
To begin a return or warranty claim, please contact your Crown Automotive sales representative. For additional assistance, you may also call us at 763-575-8276. Crown Automotive will not process any returns or warranty claims without an approved Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA). Your sales representative will provide all necessary instructions and documentation to start the process. Please note that returns and claims are not guaranteed. All returned parts are subject to inspection and verification to confirm the reason for the return or claim. Credits are only issued after this verification process is complete and approval has been granted. Both the return and warranty policies take effect only after an RMA has been authorized.
Warranty Policy
This policy outlines the warranty coverage and credit options available for defective or faulty parts only.
Eligibility: Warranty claims are valid only for parts purchased directly through Crown Automotive.
Return Authorization: A Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) must be approved before returning any item. A copy of the approved RMA must be included inside the return package.
Packaging Requirements: Customer must clearly mark the package as “Defective” on the outside and include a detailed explanation of the defect inside the box.
Genuine Packaged and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) Parts
- Warranty Duration:
- Coverage is valid for 24 months or 24,000 miles from the date of purchase, whichever occurs first.
- Customer Options for Defective Parts:
- Replacement Option: Return the defective part(s) to receive replacement part(s). A credit memo will be issued for the returned part(s) and applied to the invoice for the replacement.
- Credit Option: If no replacement is needed, the credit memo will remain on the customer’s account for use toward a future parts order.
- Note: Credit will only be issued after the returned part(s) have been inspected and verified as defective.
- Labor Reimbursement:
- If a genuine-packaged or OEM part sold by Crown Automotive fails during the warranty period and results in a service repair, Crown Automotive will reimburse labor costs based on the customer’s internal labor rate.
- A valid internal labor invoice must be submitted.
- Upon approval, a reimbursement check will be issued within 30 days.
- If a genuine-packaged or OEM part sold by Crown Automotive fails during the warranty period and results in a service repair, Crown Automotive will reimburse labor costs based on the customer’s internal labor rate.
Aftermarket (RPL) Parts
- Warranty Duration:
- Coverage is valid for 12 months or 12,000 miles from the date of purchase, whichever occurs first.
- Customer Options for Defective Parts:
- Replacement Option: Return the defective part(s) for replacement. A credit memo will be issued and applied to the invoice for the replacement.
- Credit Option: If no replacement is desired, the credit memo will remain on the account for use toward a future order.
- Note: Credit will only be issued after the returned part(s) have been inspected and confirmed to be defective.
- Labor Reimbursement:
- Crown Automotive does not reimburse labor costs associated with the failure or replacement of aftermarket parts.
Return Policy
This policy applies to the return and credit process for non-faulty / non-defective parts only.
Return Conditions
- Return Window: Returns are only accepted within 30 days of the original delivery date.
- RMA Requirement: All returns must be accompanied by an approved Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA). A printed copy must be included inside the return package.
- Refunds: We do not issue refunds in place of credit memos. Credit memos will be applied to the original invoice. If the invoice has already been paid, the credit will remain on the customer’s account for use toward future purchases.
- Part Requirements:
- Only parts purchased through Crown Automotive are eligible for return.
- Returned parts must be current part numbers and in original Crown packaging.
- Core Returns:
- All core returns must be in undamaged original packaging.
- Clearly mark the package as “Core Return” on the outside.
Credit Memos
- All Crown Automotive credit memos are valid for one year from the date of issuance.
- Once a credit memo has been issued, a dealership representative must provide instructions on how the credit should be applied.
